Canada

So I've been in Canada for a few days now and I feel somewhat obliged to update you what has happened :-) But I will keep it brief because I don't want to spend too much time writing and you probably don't want to waste too much time reading.

So on Friday last week I arrived in Calgary after a somewhat long journey (Zürich - Düsseldorf (2h layover), Düsseldorf - Vancouver (5h layover) and finally Vancouver - Calgary). Even though the journey was very long I arrived pretty relaxed, thanks to Seatguru I had very good seats on every plane and the sleeping on the flight might have helped a bit as well ;-)

In Calgary I met up with Philippe and Anja and I was allowed into their residence, a trailer. In the following three days we had quite a lot of fun and were mostly busy visiting the Calgary Stampede, the self-proclaimed, greatest outdoor show in the world (say it like Jeremy Clarkson). To get an impression of those three days I would suggest you have a look at the pictures attached. The video shows part of "The Big Show" which is shown at the end of every day at the Stampede and it was fun to watch.

Since Monday night I have been in Whistler and been Biking here and I have to say it is just fabulous, I'm enjoying myself and since the rain has stopped on Wednesday morning I haven't really stopped smiling. No pictures yet, but I will have some tomorrow or so.

Tomorrow, Friday I will be off to Singapore where I will arrive Sunday afternoon.

It is done! Some of my travel plans have been canceled others have changed

It is done, the swine flu pandemic and panic definitely has messed up my travel plans and my budget... :-( I had to cancel the part of my trip which would have led me to San Francisco... This means I won't be able to visit Fabio which is bu******t!

But I could not only limit the financial loss and I will be able to stay one more day in Canada. I will now fly to Canada on the third of July. There I will meet Philippe in Calgary where we will have a chance to catch up and to see the Calgary Stampede. After this I will head to Whistler where I will be doing some Downhill-Mountainbiking and enjoying the mountains, before I embark to Singapore on the 12th of July... So it will be a shortened trip and the seven days of "quarantine" in Singapore probably won't be that much fun, but I will be able to have at least some fun before I get to  bury myself in books again... ;-)

And just because it was so much fun last year, some pictures of Whistler...
